How To Use
Nodule Module
Nodule Module is a quick and effective tool that helps healthcare providers identify patients eligible for lung cancer screening. Designed for use during routine visits, this guide walks you through the simple how-to process to screen, educate, and connect patients with life-saving resources—all in under 5 minutes.

2. Discuss medical history
During the visit, the medical assistant, or other qualified clinical care team member, takes the patient’s medical history and the patient will report if they are a smoker or have quit smoking under their social history.
3. Scan QR code to begin questionnaire
The patient is then asked to scan the QR code on Nodule Module with their phone (or access the questionnaire online if the patient does not have a device). The patient takes 30 seconds to fill out the questionnaire to determine eligibility.
4. Shared Decision-Making Guide
If eligible, have the patient proceed with the Shared Decision-Making and read through it, which will take 2-3 minutes.
5. Answer Any Questions
Answer any questions or have the physician/advanced practice provider answer them later during the office visit.
6. Sign up for annual screening reminders
Encourage the patient to submit their email address at the bottom of the SDM to receive a yearly reminder for a lung cancer screening and receive a link to SDM and FAQs.
7. Document
Document appropriately for SDM and bill G0296.
8. Order a LDCT
Provide a written or electronic order for a low-dose CT (LDCT) for lung cancer screening.
